FOOD SOVEREIGNTY CHALLENGES

COSUMAR is resilient and continues to fulfill its mission of supplying the national market with sugar, thus contributing to the challenges of food sovereignty. Indeed, COSUMAR continues its efforts to maintain production capacity and storage levels throughout the country, with a view to meeting the country’s annual demand of 1.2 million tons of sugar. COSUMAR meets and often exceeds its regulatory obligations in terms of safety stock, and continuously supplies its wholesale, industrial, government and supermarket customers.

Thanks to the diversity of its sugar crops (sugar beet and sugar cane), and its large refining capacity, COSUMAR has always been able to adapt to climatic and economic conditions, and to supply the market without interruption, demonstrating its resilience.
